Natural Wonders Of The World

The world is full of many natural wonders-tall mountains ,deep gorges, lakes, golden sand beaches, high topped mountains covered with greenery and white snow,Gigantic mountains, breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls, fiery volcanoes, mysterious forests and many more beauties like that. But some stand out among the rest. The U.S. government use the U.S customary system for selecting the great seven natural wonders of world. This system includes the measuring the length and distance using inches, feet, yards and miles. The top seven natural wonders of the world are:
  • Aurora Boreali
  • Rio de Janeiro
  • Grand Canyon
  • Great Barrier Reef
  • Mount Everest
  • Paricutin
  • Victoria Falls

1.Grand Canyon

GRAND CAYON
The Grand Canyon is the largest known rift in the world. The canyon is a steep-sided gorge that was made by erosion from the Colorado River in northern Arizona. It is because of heavy mineral deposits that the canyon is bright red, brown and orange in color. It is the part of the The National Park which is almost 277 miles long. The canyons were carved out by the Colorado River some six million years ago with the deepest canyon depth being of over one mile. Some of the best adventures that a tourist can indulge in are river rafting, helicopter tours and other guided tours via land. Many of the Grand Canyon cliffs now have their own original names. Such as, Vishnu Temple, Shiva Temple, and Wotan's Throne.

2.Aurora Borealis

AURORA BOREALIS
Officially known in the Northern hemisphere, the Northern Lights are natural phenomena featuring beautifully colored light displayed in the sky.In the southern hemisphere, they are called "Aurora Australis", meaning
"southern." The lights are usually seen after dusk near both poles.Although they look elegant and calm, aurora are produced from millions of explosions of magnetic energy. To witness the phenomenon one needs to visit a location within the Arctic region

3.Paricutin

PARICUTIN
The dormant Paricutin in Mexico, the youngest volcano in the western hemisphere, is famous for having torn through a village in 1943 before the eyes of bewildered locals. The gateway to Paricutin is the village of Angahuan. The best way to get to the volcano is on a guided horseback ride. The volcano grew very quickly and reached seventy-five percent of its size in its first year.Since 1952, the volcano has not experienced any
eruptions. Like the majority of cinder cones, this volcano is monogenetic(the volconos that erruptonly once over a period of time). This means it will not erupt any more.Today its large black cone (at 2800m) whispers warm steam in a few places, but otherwise appears dormant. It has finally reached the height of 1,345 feet.

4.Harbor of Rio de Janeiro

HARBOR OF RIO JANEIRO
The Harbor of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil ranks as the largest bay on the planet in terms of water volume and it is the second largest city in Brazil. It is also known as "Guanabara Bay".It was created by erosion in the Atlantic. The bay is surrounded by granite mountains, including the famous Sugar Loaf Mountain(1,296
feet)and Corcovado Peak(2,310 feet). For panoramic views of the harbor, climb to the tops of these mountains or take to the skies in a helicopter or hang glider. Relatively low humidity makes September and October the best times to visit.

5.Mount Everest

MOUNT EVEREST
Mount Everest belongs to the Himalaya mountains of Asia. It is the highest, though not the tallest, peak on the Earth's surface with a maximum elevation of 29,029 feet. It is located on the border of Nepal and Tibet(China). The easiest way to see Mt. Everest is on a guided flight. You can also hike to its base. October and November, which mark the beginning of the dry season, are the best times to visit, according to the Seven Natural Wonders foundation. There is a South Base Camp located at 5364 m (17598 ft) and a North Base Camp located at 5150 m (16900 ft). Supplies are taken to these base camps and climbers will often stay there while acclimatizing to the high altitude and lower levels of oxygen. The Nepalese government charges a permit fee of $25,000 dollars to climb to the top.

6.Victoria Falls

VICTORIA FALLS
Victoria Falls, the largest in the world with a width of over a mile, sits on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe in Africa. The force of the water is strongest from January through April. The view, however, is clearest from April through June, a time at which the waterfall is best admired from the Zambian side.
Victoria Falls is made of five different "falls". Four of these are in Zimbabwe: The Devil's Cataract, Main Falls, Rainbow Falls and Horseshoe Falls -and one, The Eastern Cataract, is in the bordering country of Zambia.Victoria Falls is a one stop destination affording the visitor several aspects of tourism ranging from prime game viewing, cultural tourism and the Falls themselves

7.Great Barrier Reef

GREAT BARRIER REEF
The Great Barrier Reef off Australia's northeastern coast spans 133,000 square miles, which makes it the world's largest coral reef and the only living thing observable from outer space. It is made up of around 2900 individual reefs and 900 islands.Diving on the Great Barrier Reef is the best way to experience the thrill of scuba diving. Australia’s Great Barrier Reef travel will let you experience the natural beauty of the reef, as well as its many surrounding areas. The Great Barrier Reef is around 2600 kilometres(1616 miles) in length..Marine animals called coral play an important role in the formation of the Great Barrier Reef. The reef supports approximately 1,500 fish species and more than 400 species of vibrant coral..The reef, transforms from the north—where the reef began—to the south. You can contemplate the reef and its inhabitants on a glass-bottom boat tour, many of which allot time for diving and snorkeling
